Recruiting the Next Generation
Working with my other hat on as Operations Director at Spider Entertainments, Halo 2020 Consulting pitched for and was awarded the contract to recruit the entire team for a new VR experience coming to London Westfield in the summer. Roles of Operations Manager, VR Technicians, Shift Leaders and VR Operators are all being sourced for the business. A full review and benchmarking exercise of salary levels was followed by delivering Job Descriptions and Person Specifications for all roles prior to advertising the roles. Initial shortlisting from over 300 applications was undertaken followed by phone interviews to enable shortlisting to be done further. On line interviews done via Teams has proved a valuable and a time effective way of undertaking the interviews cost effectively.

Whilst this isn't mine or Spider Entertainments core service its a service that I feel many businesses could benefit from. Over my time in leisure I've generally been un impressed with the knowledge that many generic Recruitment Agencies posses regarding the leisure, hospitality, tourism and attractions sector. I've worked in the industry for 30+ years. Recruited many many roles and managed in excess of 500 + staff members.
